Recessed luminaires for indoor lighting

A recessed luminaire is installed in a prepared opening in a ceiling or another suitable surface, leaving mainly its front section visible. This provides a discreet and visually organised lighting solution for homes, offices, corridors, retail areas and other interiors.

Luminaires with wider light distribution can provide general illumination, while spotlights are useful for lighting a work surface, interior feature, display or defined area. Models with an adjustable direction allow the light to be aimed more precisely and adapted to the layout of the room.

How to choose a recessed luminaire or spotlight

  • Luminous flux — choose a light output that corresponds to the room size, intended use and required illumination level.
  • Colour temperature — warm, neutral and cool light create different atmospheres and visibility conditions.
  • Beam angle — a wider beam provides more even illumination, while a narrower beam is suitable for accent lighting.
  • Cut-out dimensions — check the required opening diameter or dimensions and compare them with the prepared installation opening.
  • Installation depth — ensure that sufficient space is available behind the mounting surface for the luminaire and its connection components.
  • Control options — if brightness adjustment is required, verify that the luminaire and its power supply are compatible with dimming.

Installation and luminaire positioning

When planning the lighting layout, consider the distance between luminaires, ceiling height and desired light distribution. Before installation, check the electrical connection requirements, necessary ventilation space and mounting conditions. Electrical work must be carried out according to the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable electrical safety requirements.
